BSII and Linux

Has anyone gotten Linux to recognize their BSII over USB as a midi device? I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and hoped it would just show up in my list of devices automatically, being class compliant, but it doesn't. Has anyone here had any luck with this? If so, what did you have to do?

Here on UbuntuStudio 14.04 works. Just pluged in. ALSA registers it as MIDI device.

Keyboard works sending MIDI notes with velocity. Knobs work sending CC messages. Some knobs, e.g. filter cutoff, are sending strange values - just 64 or 0. Other are sending as expected.
