Circuit Nova patch compatibility?

Hi People,

Anyone know if Ultranova or Mininova patches can be loaded into a Circuit?

Thanks,

Cires

I know the Ultranova has more synthesis modules than the Circuit, so I'm guessing that's not possible.

They are close but not close enough for patches to just work as is. For example Circuit has 1 less OSC and one less LFO and many less envelopes. However not all Nova patches use all of these. So in principle - simple-ish patches that just use 2 osc for example and could be re-created on the Circuit, but it would require you to manually convert them by recreating in the Circuit editor

Also, while Circiut has a few less capabilities than the Nova engines, the macros actually have more flexability than the "tweak" knobs on say the MiniNova. Not only can each macro control up to four paramaters, you can actually select the specific range of the macro that affects each parameter as well as the depth of it's affect. After playing with the editor, I'm really impressed with how they designed that.

Bummer. Thanks anyway guys.

Suppose we can always hope that Novation release a convertor, or something gets built in to the editor.
