Circuit PC/MAC Editor needed!

I own the Circuit and do like whats been put into the box (synths + drums), but like someone

on youtube stated "It's difficult to come up with something original".

I really want to be able to create my own synth-, drum-sounds (the range of synth-sounds isnt all that big and the range of drums is small)

and be able to create my own delay- and reverb-settings too. In addition i would appeciate the ability to adress the encoders (synths) with the

parametersi feel the sound will need for building the sound and live-twisting.

Of course i know this box wasnt initially made for millions of possibilities to use it, but i tend to use it more and

more just for sequncing exernal synths i have instead of using the built-in synth-eingines.

Thanks for reading!

:-)

Hey guys,

Great news! It looks as though a new beta firmware is now available for the Circuit that address a few things, including some of the most popular user requests. If you would like to participate in the beta testing of the latest firmware, you can download it from the following link:

http://beta.novationmusic.com/releases/circuit/

This will implement a few fixes and request from users, including the ability to record from external MIDI devices. With the latest firmware version, you can also use the new Editor from Isotonik Studios to customize further (link included at the beta site). The Editor only addresses the 2 synth parts (not drums and fx), but is a great start into the ability of further customization as it provides more in depth control than just the macro knobs allow.

They have also posted a MIDI Parameters guide on the Circuit's main download page:

Just had a quick try of the windows standalone version, seems to be really well featured, one slight hiccup that might catch people out when installing is that on mine a message appeared saying "The program can't start because MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

To fix it you will need to download this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 and select this one- vcredist_x64.exe

This got it working for me, hope it helps someone.

Sigh. While the Isotonik editor looks nice... it isn't what I wanted at all.

First off - it requires either MaxForLive - which I don't have. Or the stand alone versions require Max 7 - A 1/2 Gig. download and who knows how big an install. I don't want to install >500M on my machine just to support a patch editor. Sigh...

And, All I really wanted was to be able to just back up and restore my sessions (with the patch settings and patterns) - Patch editing is a nice idea, but not my main need.

Saddly, the Circuit MIDI PDF Novation just put out doesn't give any info on how session or patch data can be retreived - Or I'd just write my own!

Yes. The midi implementation chart is not complete. No info about sysex for i. e.  Dump or parameter request.  Because this is needed if we start a editor (vst plugin) based on Ctrlr.

Hi Mzero,

Thank you for your feedback regarding the editor. We have had requests for the abiility to back up/restore previous sessions off the Circuit and I will make to pass an update to our development team for further investigation on how this can be implemented for users.
