Novation impulse Dead Keys

Hi there.

Iv'e got a novation Impulse 61 keys. I've got a wierd issue and that is that F in a certain octave is dead and G in another octave is always sustained. When I transpose it follows so it doesn't seem to be any hardware issue, or? I've also tried connecting another midikeyboard and that keyboard works without any problems. I'd be very thankfull for any help I can get!

Hi Moortwig,

Sorry to hear about the issue occuring with the Impulse 61, but we are more than happy to help. It is worth testing the Impulse on all available USB ports and with additional USB cables to see if the same issue occurs. Through MIDI-OX (PC) or MIDI Monitor (Mac) you can verify if any MIDI data is being sent from "F" and if the note on message for "G" is being held. Here are links to the software:

To potentially resolve the issue, we can attempt to reset and manually update the firmware. Here are a couple guides that will walk through how to do so:

If issues are still occuring after resetting and updating the firmware, please contact us through the following link so we may assist further:

Hi, I have a similar problem. The keys C-F in the lowest octave won't sound, and just like Moortwig the notes sound if I transpose. However, those keys are dead, dead, dead. I've tried your suggestions several times, I've tried firmaware resets, factory resets, deleting controller preferences in Logic, lots of different stuff. I find it off-putting to have to do do all this, even more so when my Impulse61 has just been resting nicely on its stand in my studio, with no temperature variations, no power surges, nothing that should warrant this problem, especially from a relatively new keyboard - I bought it 2 1/2 tears ago.
