So, I've bought a LaunchKey MK2. I've got everything connected correctly..And everything works - Nearly..
1) The transport controls only work at seemingly random times.
If I turn InControl OFF for the transport controls, I can then play and stop correctly - so MIDI messages are being sent for the keys (So the fault isn't hardware related)
However, with InControl ON, only Play and Record is recognised (Stop and Loop do nothing)
2) The "Scene Start" and "Scene Stop" buttons also only work at random times..
"Scene start" sometimes starts a scene, or restarts it. But most of the time it does nothing.
"Scene stop" stops playing clips of a scene most of the time, but can take a number of presses for it to light up on the keyboard / stop the scene.
3) Scene select buttons work...But..
But they become far less responsive when there's something playing (or when audio is being processed... So, if I stop the track and there's delay/reverb still sounding, the buttons are still unresponsive for a time)
However, if I disable InControl, the scene select buttons work perfectly, no matter how many clips are playing...
I've tried different USB ports on my MacBook Pro. But this makes no difference. I'm using Ableton Standard 9.2
It seems to get worse when there's things playing.. I can stop/start scenes more often when there's less clips playing (I'm taking 1 clip out of a possible 5...So I'm not going crazy..CPU is only hitting 11% max)
(I've edited this post as I keep finding more issues..)
Now I've discovered that if I pause ableton (press space), things are still unresponsive. So, there's green arrows next to the paused clips, but no audio.
Only when I properly stop everything (click on a scene that contains no clips) do the scene select buttons become responsive again..
Oh, and the Novation MK2 website doesn't have links to the VStation or BassStation. And it doesn't have the DAW setup guide either...
For those who couldn't find them, take a look in the MK1 page instead...
I'm guessing (hoping) that this issue with InControl (Oh, the Irony) is something that can be fixed in a software patch of some description. But, any ideas are welcome!
