I Just bought a launchkey mini to use with sampletank, but i cant play the drums with the Launchkey's Pads...

I was wondering if i coud use the audio import on the launchpad app to load in drum samples...

as any one tryed it? i would like to know if it's possible before buying it...

Yeah, you can do it. You import the samples in (for one shots, I tend to just import them in 128BPM, but it doesn't matter), then set them up as one shots in the Edit screen. Just remember that the app has no MIDI OUT, but if your finger drumming it doesn't matter.

Thanks Simon!  I was wondering the same thing.  Do you know if this app can take 24 bit samples or if it's limited to 16 bit?

I was going to say that the use of AudioCopy suggests only 44.1kHz 16-bit samples but I just imported a 44.1kHz 24-bit sample via Dropbox and it worked.
I was pretty certain I'd done this previously and it didn't work but I must have confused it with another app.

I'm now guessing that the only things to watch out for is the requirement for more storage space per sample and whether your particular device can handle the load of playing eight 24-bit samples simultaneously plus FX, plus cueing and still have good response for one-shots.

As for iOS Sampletank samples specifically, since iOS8.3, you've got very little leeway in terms of accessing your user folders now, so I'm not sure that you could directly import them into Launchpad unless you recorded them then used Audiocopy to transfer the recording.

If it's the desktop version's samples which you're going to import then you should be fine

Can you assign/latch midi notes to the pads in sampletank??
