Using the Launchpad as a Midi Controller - Changing The Colour Of The LED

Hey guys!

Hope this is the right place to be asking this.

I recently purchased a pad to use at live shows to control our stage lights, and thanks to an update with the lighting software you can get both MIDI in and MIDI out.
At this point in time when you push a button its lights up orange, but is it possible to change what colour it lights up with a certain code or command?

Many thanks,
Chris

You can find a programmer's reference guide on Launchpad's download page:

My understanding is that the colors are based on the Velocity of the note messages.

Yeah, the software released a fix to give you an option to add "ID" for the MIDI out and then i found the above link and have been working on it! Is there a way to colour mix the LED's? (So red and green on at the same time?)

Note: I don't own a Launchpad myself, so this is not based on first hand experience.

Anyway, have some of the pads Red and others Green? Like have a row do this: # # # # # # # #

Yeah possible, if your software can send a different velocity to each pad.

Each pad can only show a single color at once however.

The new launchpad (pro) will have RGB colour mixing, with the existing range you can only have R, G or B at different brightnesses... Not mixed.
