Melodic Sequencer and more in LP Pro

Hi Novation,

When can we see a firmware update to LP Pro to add some of the cool sequencer functions we see in Circuit?

It has been slow on the custom firmware side for LP Pro. Too bad there is no compatibility mode for all the scripts for the original LP.

That said, there is some really good software from J74 and Stagecraft for LP Pro, but I feel Novation has deserted the LP Pro. In light of the new Push 2 from Ableton, the LP Pro needs more attention.

Hi Vikramms,

The Launchpad Pro has not been deserted as it is still a current and relevant product, but anything outside the standard design of the product, would need to be implemented by users. However, the Launchpad Pro was designed with open source firmware to allow users the ability to create/customize the unit. This includes creating a step sequencer within the unit. Here is a link that may help with what you are looking for:

Hi Matthew,

The biggest problem I am finding is the workflow.

When I switch to some of the custom firmware in standalon Max4Live tools and other VST solutions, it requires not only selecting the customer firmware mode using the setup button, but also requires changing prefernces in Live to use MIDI input in Standalone mode as opposed to the MIDI input Live port. So, I cant switch seamlessley between using some of the new options out there and the Live workflow.

It woud be easier if I was just switching between Live mode and Programmer mode. But if I have to keep switching between Launchpad ports in Preferences. It just breaks the flow of things.
