custom mapping ?? encoders in Ableton live

I run Ableton, and the zero works directly with Ableton instead of going through automap.

I am using the zero as a controller in the default way, as opposed to using it as a generic controller where I would need to

map any control I would use.   ( chosen as a contol surface in Abletons midi preferences)    I like the default function.

Can I map the rotory encoders (not the endless ones)  to control my effects sends on any currently selected channel?

Like a Midi script would do.

You should be able to midi map them to do whatever you wish from within ableton as far as i'm aware?  It's just a template that is autoloaded when Ableton is detected.  No reason you can't edit any un-used controls to match your workflow as long as they don't collide with existing controller CC addresses.

Well.... I am familiar with midi mapping a control, but what I want is more like a MIDI script.

Lets say I map an encoder to send A on track one.  That encoder will always control send A on track one.

I want a mapping that controls send A ONLY when I have that channel selected;the encoder would control send A on any CURRENTLY selected track.

If I select channel 2, then that encoder will control send A on track 2, and no other tracks.

If that makes sense.

Thanks

Ah ok, they're not that hard to do, you just need to copy and then modify the UserConfiguration.txt file within the preferences folders.

However, as the SL is so popular, i've seen a load of custom scripts out there for Ableton control - this one was posted a while back looked very good:-

http://forum.novationmusic.com/forums/sl-mkii/new-custom-script-ableton-...

Just to save you some confusion, the link on that post takes you to the project page for this script which makes reference to SLPlus, which is the newer version, but not available for some reason.

So you need to download 'Ultimate Control' (I've attached screenshot of where) and give that a whirl.

The feature you're most interested in will be track mode, whereby sends A-F can be controlled for the selected tracks via rotaries.

There's also this generic control script which you could install, and assign to your SL ports, it uses standard CC messages as outlined:-

Awesome!

Thanks so much.

So I wonder if I could make my own script, using my very limited knowlege of computers?

Roteries control the macros , and the first fader=track volume, and the other faders sends ( or visa versa)

I'm definitely going to try that script.

..  Is there anyone out there who could build a script for me for a price?

Thanks!!
