Filter Velocity drops when using USB

I have noticed when connected to my computer via USB that the Filter Envelope Velocity value drops to -54 after switching away from the envelope page.  Any idea what's going on here?  I'm using the Ableton External Instrument device, if that helps.

Long shot - but, could it be that your music software (DAW) is sending the -54 envelope velocity value? i.e. have you recorded your envelope changes into a track by mistake and it's playing back to your ultranova?

I thought about that, the thing is it happens when the transport isn't running, so I don't think it's sending MIDI data at that time.  Along these lines, and I feel like this is a long shot, I guess it might be possible that the page change itself is sending a MIDI message that get's routed back to the UN and is on the same CC channel as the filter velocity value.

I can't beleive a page change would send any messages, i think they're just internal controls.

Which firmware are you running on?

If it's not V2.0.0 - it may be worth downloading the latest version from here as it contained 'various' bug fixes:

Backup your patches first though, just in case.

Still happening after the firmware update, though I think the problem is actually with Ableton's External Instrument device.  Instead of using that, I set up an audio track and a midi track for the Ultranova and haven't had this problem occur, it's not Ultranova's fault at least.  Not sure what the EI device is doing, but if I have a simple solution then that's that I suppose.
