MIDI merge

Hi, I'm looking at potentially buying one of these but the manual doesn't anser what I assume it a very basic question. Does the Zero do a merge on the incoming MIDI data?

I'm looking for a control surface for a digital piano (or whatever) so need to go MIDI OUT from the piano to MIDI IN on this (or something else?) and then have the sliders/knobs adjust the MIDI stream and send it out to whatever hardware module etc. I'm using.

Many thanks for any help (have contacted tech support but awaiting an answer).

I dont get what the signal flow is you're talikng about. Do you mean midi notes from the keyboard go into the Zero, get joined by midi CC data from the Zero and they both get sent on to your sound module?

Thats keyboard notes to the 'Thru' port getting joined by CC on the 'Out' port, both going to the sound module on the same midi channel. Not something I've tried but im sure its possible. Thats why the Zero was made, coz people already had keyboards and just wanted the control surface.
