Template For Kawai K3m

Hello, I am new to the forum!!  I have and older Remote 61 SL.  I have been desperately trying to figure out how to access the parameters of my old Synths like; Kawaii k3m and Yamaha Tx7 and Yamaha FB-01.  I have been on a mission to learn how to decipher the Midi Implimentation charts in these manuals but have had no luck.  I am too much of a novice.  I have no problem programming the Remote SL with basic CC# messages, but everything else (Sysex, Nrpn, Rpn, etc)  is a mystery to me.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  And better yet any one with templates for these any of these old Synths would be a God Send!!

Please Help!!  Anyone!!  Or any guidance to some literature on how to decipher sysex in lamens terms would be helpful...

Have you considered something like midi quest ( https://www.squest.com )? It has built in mappings ready to go for all of those devices,  i imagine you would only have to map to midi quest via your SL to get it working (I am presuming here!) - obviously only of use if you're going via a computer for recording purposes etc.

Could you supply an example of the programming that you're having problems with?  And whether you're using the SL editor, or trying to program via the controller hardware only?

Well I use sounddiver.  I havent looked into mappings with it at all, but I'm pretty sure that it is mainly for editing parameters.  I am interested in controlling parameters.  I am currently using the Remote Sl Template editor.  I am able to control Portamento Time and Switch The Portamento on and off as well as Volume, Pitch, Sustain and Modulation with CC# Messages.  But I have seen on YouTube others controlling filter frequency and a number of other parameters via SYSEX (Im assuming). The novation Template Editor allows for sysex messages to be assigned to any of the sliders or knobs, but I don't know how to program the SYSEX messages correctly.  I have been experimenting and reading a ton of material on Writing SYSEx code, but I am still lost.  If Anyone knows an easy way to explain it or can provide some example templates they themselves use for their novation product, it would at least give me a huge head start into understanding it.  Heres is the link to the video im talking about...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAavSJd2hOY

Thanks again!!

When i get a spare 15 minutes i will post back and explain, things are nuts at the moment with christmas etc. - It can be a little fiddly with the SL editor - Have you tried just pressing the edit button on your SL and doing it from the hardware only? I know a few people who've posted here in the past and found it easier to do that than use the editor.

Will try and post back later if i can!

Well, I figured it out!!!  It's about time too...  Ive spent the last year trying to figure this out and the answer was right in front of me the whole time...  After thoroghly reading the K3m Manual again, turns out there was a setting that needed to be tweeked in order for the K3m to transmit sysex data...  After changing the setting, I was able to successfully monitor the sysex code with the help of Midi Ox.  Sometimes the hardest problems have the simplest of solutions...

I will have a template done soon which will allow for full control over the K3m via my Novation Remote SL, and if anyone is interested in it, just let it be known and I will submit it to the forum...  But if no one is interested I won't waste my time...

The download link seems missing on the libraries page. Can someone reupload the Kawai K3M template? Thanks.
