Zero SL MK2 with StandAlone Instruments

As the topic says, how can i use it with Stanalone instruments? Instead of going thru a DAW.

Thanks

Just use the midi in/out. And you have advanced mode to customise controls to suit your hardware.

Anything else? I don't own one, I just read the manual.

What more are you looking for? Download the manual if you haven't already, it is quite useful.

I am trying to decide between a Zero and building my own midi controller. I ideally need something that can send multiple midi commands with one button push.  If the zero could do that it would probably decide it for me but I can't find anything on this.

What i meant was...to use it with Standalone Instruments i have to be connected thru MIDI IN/OUT?

Or i have to use it in Advanced Mode? Or both?

Do you mean standalone hardware or software synths?

If hardware synths directly without a computer in between, then use midi out. Advanced mode will let you customise what commands the controls send out.

If software synths standalone, then the USB connection should suffice I would think.

I have decided to build my own midi controller now. I hope you get it sorted out.

Did you solved it? How?

I have the same problem: I want to control a Korg DW-8000 with Novation Zero SLMKII and I can't understand how.

Thanks

Sergino

You Midi OUT of your SL, to the Midi IN on the Korg, and create a custom template to control your Korg cut off values etc.  You may need to google for more info on midi parameters etc. for your korg if you don't have the manual, i.e. here: http://www.pallium.com/bryan/dw8000.php

thank you, but you have wrote all the things I already knew 8-)

The problem was that I did find only the Automap documentation. Now I have found the Zero SL  guide so it could be easy.
